MAIKAL X ALBUM RELEASE

Haarlem massive Maikal X also known as Shyrock (ex-postmen) is releasing his debut album 'Genesis' on june the 30th in Paradiso Amsterdam.

With the release of ‘Genesis’, his debut album, Maikal X delivers a top quality product of international standards featuring reggae icon’s such as Peetah Morgan (lead singer from the group Morgan Heritage), Luciano, Dean Fraser, and Hawaiian reggae diva Irie Love.

HAPPY SOCKS by WONG WONG

Happy Socks lanceert ‘Happy Socks by WONG WONG’.

In samenwerking met designer Stephen Wong van het NY design collective WONG WONG introduceert het hippe sokkenlabel een exclusieve sportlijn geïnspireerd op de aankomende Wereld Kampioenschappen voetbal te Zuid‐Afrika.
Happy Socks by WONG WONG brengt met de nieuwe lijn een eerbetoon aan acht landen die tijdens het komende WK voetbal prominent aanwezig zullen zijn; Argentinië, Brazilië, Engeland, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Nederland, Italië en Zuid‐Afrika. Zes van deze landen mochten al eerder de titel ‘Wereldkampioen’ dragen, met geborduurde sterren op de sokken wordt het aantal wereldtitels per land op de sokken aangeven.
De samenwerking met diverse kunstenaars en andere modemerken is onderdeel van het succesvolle Happy Socks concept.



Stephen Wong heeft zijn sporen in de modewereld verdient als creatief directeur van Helmut Lang Studio’s, sinds 2007 werkt hij onder de naam WONG WONG aan bijzondere designprojecten.
Met de nieuwe collectie Happy Socks by WONG WONG versmelten de twee merken fashion, voetbal en design tot één
uniek product, precies op tijd voor het aankomende Wereld Kampioenschap voetbal in Zuid‐Afrika.

Soundsystem Culture is a new initiative to promote soundsystem culture in the Netherlands. Various rising sounds joined forces and together they play throughout the country. The first edition was held in august in The Hague, the second edition will take place on the 19th of december at The Gluefactory in Leiden. Dates in Arnhem, Haarlem and Rotterdam are yet to be confirmed.
On the line up for the second edition:

Ketown Sound from Leiden
Jahva Sound from The Hague
Rootsolid Sound from Rotterdam
and Wazari Sound from Haarlem

Expect big tunes and big riddims. For if you love reggae/dancehall and soundsystem culture you can't miss this one! Bring your airhorns!
